Laura Furci started her musical career as a classical pianist (soloist and chamber) in Italy, where at the age of 15 she won the First Prize in the Italian Piano Competition "Citta' del Parnaso", performing in the Paisiello Theatre in Lecce and many other places in northern Italy. She obtained her degree in Classical Piano at The Conservatory of Udine and Trieste. (Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy).
After graduating with Magna cum Laude from the University of Trieste in International Political Sciences, she landed in Spain, where she lived one year in Madrid and another one in Barcelona, ending in Cádiz, attracted by Flamenco sounds and rhythms for a collaboration with an Andalusia musical ensable for 6 months. After, she shared stage for two years on Tour with Javier Ruibal (Spain), Octavio Kotan (Cuba), Nono Garcia (Andalucía), and Johnny Phillips (UK) as a pianist andas a singer.

After living and receiving classes in New York (Jeanie Lovetri, Bruce Barth, Yoon Sun Choi, Jacob Sacks and other great NYC musicians) she started composing her own songs in different languages (English, Spanish, Italian, Friulano), and recorded her first EP "Out of my comfort zone" in New York (2009) with David Binney, John Escreet, Zack Lober, and Greg Ritchie.

During 2011 and 2012, she lived and performed in Berlin and in Italy, as well as with her solo show and duos with Malte Tönißen,  Alessandro Turchet, (Upright bass), Eric Vaughn, Nico Lippolis (Drums). She also performed with the full FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA orchestra in Teatro Giovanni da Udine presenting her song in Friulano:

“A store of knowledge that - along with her unusual life experiences -  has been of great value converting herself into a brave and original singer and composer, of difficult cataloguing and rich exposition.” (All About Jazz)

Her Album, "Think con la tua cabeza", produced and recorded in New York in 2013,  features Ugonna Okegwo (upright bass) and Colin Stranahan (drums) among many other talented musicians, and Michael League (artistic producer, electric bass, guitar). Antonio Lizana’s voice is featured in her song called “Milagrosa Armonia”.
"Her songs, moving, full of melodic richness,(…) with interesting calls to very different musical traditions, but with that familiar air we use to call jazz,..those chord changes that are still miraculously harmonic, the play of her voice coming and going... her roots are present and alive, but at the same time she incorporates Andalusian airs like a new coat in the layers of her personality, like the testimony of what she already is, of what everybody is, passersby, in the end. Like her nomadic music" (JJ Tellez, Spain)

“Laura Furci is many things. She is a classically-trained pianist, vocalist and composer with a musical vision that penetrates well beyond the artistic horizon we currently realize. Innovation has a cutting edge where the particles of creativity turn in upon themselves and it is on this almost theoretic wave where Furci is most comfortable surfing. Young, beautiful, talented, technically accomplished, organically creative, Furci is a Renaissance woman. Her second recording, following the 2010 EP Out of My Comfort Zone (Magnetica), is the fully realized Think Con La Tua Cabeza: a provocative array of musics and sounds, freshly presented. Furci runs a full gamut from the edgy, adult-contemporary "Positive Side" with its Beatles references among an inventive horn chart to the sharp and angular "Think For Yourself" scored for piano, corn flakes and pots and pans. Furci goes polyglot on "La Cosa" and "Tutto Sembra," the former sporting an inventive strings chart while the latter contains a whiff of Latin piano coupled with contemporary vocal and instrumental flourishes. She updates "Comfort Zone" from her previous EP of the same title, polishing all of its edges to a high sheen with strings. The evolution is exciting and shows Furci developing from a more traditional jazz vocalist to something novel and aesthetically pleasing.

Furci's talent, in both depth and breadth, was tailor made for the multimedia age we enjoy. Her creativity extends well beyond the aural into both the physical and metaphysical. Her's is smart music played smartly, easily enjoyed by the broadest audience. Furci has come along way in the last three years and it can only be pure fun to see where she goes.”

C. Michael Bailey - “All About Jazz”

Carlos Fresneda -"El Mundo-America", New York

Fernando Olmeda - "Nueva Tribuna", Madrid

Laura Furci - Think Con La Tua Cabeza (2013)

Track Listing: Positive Side; Live The Question; Think For Yourself; La Cosa; Comfort Zone; Love Secret; pinsir; tutto sembra; By Shy Tomorrow; Milagrosa: Pink Cloud; Sunny Day; Effect With No Cause; Not Interchangeable.
